In Portland Oregon:
Hunde Nagaya will provide comprehensive transitional services for all Ethiopian immigrants in Portland, and act on the Ethiopian community. On the behalf of the selected issues and policies that affect the Ethiopians. We will help the immigrants access existing human services while actively creating a space in which immigrants can receive assistance, with English proficiency classes, citizenship applications, interpreters, and other vital services. We will also support families to be trained on how to communicate with their teens effectively, without creating a disagreement. From our past experience, on the run away teens, and family disputes we understand that these always come from miscommunications. We also teach children what to do when in an abusive situation. Giving basic knowledge of the dynamic roles in relationships within and between families, schools, and communities.

Hunde would like to protect the environment and natural recourses, and assist farmers those who were affected in the many areas of draught, to re-establish their life and get sufficient food for their children. Supplying food assistance and related materials to all drought affected areas.

Ethiopia has bee considered as a cohesive existing region despite the challenges created by increasing lack of knowledge, reputed civil conflict, drought, and poor health / education system especially in the county side. On a top of the above problems, we are facing the most horrible HIV/AIDS epidemic in the country.
